Youth Xchange: Take up the challenge of Youth Xchange

Youth Xchange is our longest-running progamme. It gives 18-22 year olds the chance to spend six months making a real difference to the lives of disadvantaged people. Youth Xchange is a 6 month opportunity, with 12 weeks spent working overseas and 12 weeks  spent in the UK. You will be placed in a team of 10 UK volunteers and 10 volunteers from the host country, and will live, learn and volunteer together throughout the exchange. 

 

The Youth Xchange programme gives young people the opportunity to work on projects tackling important issues, making an impact overseas as well as back on home soil.  As a volunteer, you will be working in a community organisation on issues that matter.  The projects are designed with the host organisations so you can be sure that what you’re doing is really useful to them.   On the overseas leg of the experience, you will be living and working in a new culture and learning about the different issues that affect them.  During the UK leg you will support others in your group in understanding issues faced by communities in this country, and work to make a difference here.
