Global Xchange is a successful and well established partnership between VSO and the The British Council. Working together since 2005 we have successfully been able to draw on expertise in international development, volunteering, cultural relations and community networks and knowledge.
Global Xchange will now also form part of International Citizen Service (ICS), a global volunteering scheme funded by the Department for International Development (DfID). This is a pilot scheme, which will run from March 2011 until June 2012.
On the ground, we partner with a number of overseas and UK community based organisations that have strong roots in their community and understand the issues facing young people in their area.
